She worked for twenty years as a teacher. She can play the piano and guitar. She's traveled around the world and visited forty-five countries on her own. What's so special about that? Well, nothing, except she can't see. Shawna Tucker is blind. She's been blind all her life. Shawna's parents didn't want her to go to a special school, so they sent her to the local high school. She was a good student and she went to college. After college, she became a teacher at a school for blind children. But last June, Shawna left her job after twenty years and started the organization Blind Hope. "I've helped a lot of blind children in this country, but now I want to do something for blind children in other countries," says Shawna. Does Shawna have any other plans? "Yes," she laughs.
